My name is Maria Marques, I am Maria's mother. It's been about 8 years since she left for the United States. We miss her. I had 8 children, and she is the youngest. I had a very troubled pregnancy, I felt very sick during gestation. The birth was natural, but after her, I underwent a specific surgery to not have more children.<\/p>\n

Maria was a child who didn't give me trouble. We had a good relationship. She was very attached to her father, and when she was still very young, she would put her hand in his pocket and say, \"Dad, give me a cluzero\" (referring to the currency of the time, Cruzeiro).<\/p>\n

When she turned 14, she started to be very rebellious and didn't obey me, and during this phase, our relationship wasn't very good. Some time later, she left home and went to live her life.<\/p>\n

She suffered a lot in life, but thank God she found a direction, her life transformed. For me, it's a pleasure to know she's doing well now. I miss her, and we talk whenever possible. Moreover, I'm happy about this book she wrote, and I hope it can help many people.<\/p>\n

Maria Marques' story deeply touched me because of the living testimony she represents of the miracle that Christ performed in her life. The entire plot lived by the child, by the teenager agonizing in front of a painful and unexpected impasse she was forced to endure, all of this, touches us closely. She leads us to reflect on situations that many teenagers around the world, and close to us too, live, and the need for the church to build strong families, prepared to face problems that might suddenly arise, so they know how to assume their role where each member can find refuge, understanding, and love amidst the storms.<\/p>\n

How beautiful is God's love in this story that Maria Marques lived! He went to meet her and offered her true hope and love. The reader will surely feel how great is God's love that transforms pain into comfort, tears into precious pearls of joy, despair into peace and security.<\/p>\n
