Quem é Who is Maria Marques

My name is Maria de Lourdes Marques Filha, my father's name is Gercino Marques and my mother's name is Maria de Lourdes Marques. I was born in the small town of São João da Paraúna, Goiás, Brazil. My father was a farmer, and my mother was a homemaker; they both had eight children, four of whom were men and four were women. I am the youngest daughter and today I am 55 years old.

Her family

Naturally, Maria's life was influenced by her position as the youngest daughter in a typical family. Currently 55 years old, she holds fond memories of her father, a hardworking and honest man, who strived to provide for his family. Although loving, he also imposed discipline in the children's education.

Maria's father, dedicated to fieldwork, spent the week away from home, returning only on weekends. She fondly recalls the anticipation of his arrival, watching intently through the window until she spotted him. Upon receiving his blessing, she would run into his arms, feeling protected and immensely happy.

Her mother, a hardworking and careful woman, took care of the household and family responsibilities perfectly. However, she had a strong temperament and little patience. If they disobeyed her, she would throw objects and utter curses. Despite this, Maria's family was considered normal for the time.

A turning point in her life

It was during Maria's adolescence that she was surprised by a summons for a meeting at her home. In addition to her parents and her older brother, there were also some strangers to the family present. This meeting would mark a turning point in her life, prompting her to seek answers and a new path, which she shares in exciting detail in "Christ's Madam".
